Details at Caya Restaurant

Design of Wine Cellar and Rack in the Bar.

Caya, Aruba

A renovation that evokes a sense of calm and peace through the interplay of light and its connection with nature.

The project focuses on a series of carefully curated interior interventions that enrich the dining experience through materiality, craftsmanship, and spatial coherence. Rather than introducing isolated design elements, each intervention contributes to a unified architectural language that balances warmth with refinement.

The bar forms the visual centerpiece of the restaurant, where bespoke suspended shelving with black metal frames and light timber surfaces creates a sense of lightness while providing a functional display for the space. A custom wine cellar display wall further reinforces the material palette, transforming storage into an architectural feature that adds rhythm and depth to the interior.

Natural materials were selected to establish a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere and provide a soft, ambient layer of illumination that enhances the character of the space.

A restrained palette of black steel, light wood, and natural rattan defines the identity of the restaurant, celebrating honest materials and precise detailing. The result is an environment where bespoke joinery, carefully curated furnishings, and lighting work together to create a timeless and inviting dining experience.
